Laem Chabang International Country Club is without doubt one of Thailand’s finest golf courses. The 27-hole course was designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus who described Laem Chabang as ‘one of the most beautiful and enjoyable golf courses I have ever designed.’ If you are visiting Pattaya, playing the course is an absolute must for any golfer.

The course is divided into three distinct 9-hole courses which can be played in any combination giving anyone who wishes to play several times differ ent combinations to test their skill and to enjoy a variety of challenges.

The course is beautifully laid over 7,000 acres of stunning tropical landscape filled with abundant native exotic vegetation. This has been further enhanced by clever planting of trees, flowers and shrubs to make every hole a joy to play.

The “Mountain Nine” is considered the most difficult of the three courses at 3,445 yards and plays to Par 36 for its nine holes. The course offers the most stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the rest of the course. Natural rock outcrops and lush vegetation are abundant on the course and players have to take great care not to stray on the fairways. The course twists around rolling hills and is characterised by elevated greens along with numerous natural water hazards to negotiate.

The 36 par “Lake Nine” is set out over 3,419 yards and as the name suggests water hazards play a major role. The fairways on the lake course offer wide tree lined avenues that reward straight driving but cause major problems to shots that go awry. There are some amazing bunkers from which the wise will stay clear but they are tantalisingly placed to tempt risk taking.

The “Valley Nine” is a 3,619 yard Par 26 test of relatively narrow holes that offer a different challenge to “Lake Nine”. The greens on this section are mostly low level and encourage intelligent and accurate shot making on the approach. As with the other two courses there is water to negotiate and the greens are lush, well manicured and play true.

Golf carts and caddies are mandatory on all of the courses and give an opportunity to enjoy the scenic views offered on all the holes at Laem Chabang.

Laem Chabang International Country Club offers a range of other facilities that make this a world-class golfing experience.

Not least, it is the opportunity to play night golf under lights. It is possible to play a full 18 holes in the evening and the course is very well lit with floodlights.

There is also a short pitch and putt course for those wishing to hone shot making skills. Each hole on the “Rock Nine” plays to Par 3 and offers a short fun diversion or a chance to practise approach play.

As one would expect from a course of this quality, the Clubhouse is of a very high standard offering international and local cuisine with five-star service.
