New figures released by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) show that Thailand’s boom in tourist visitors shows no sign of abating. In the first quarter of 2013, Thailand recorded a 15% year on year increase in arrivals which was itself a record year. The Kingdom is breaking all expectations of tourism – particularly in light of the record highs that have been seen in the value of the Thai Baht meaning that it should be more expensive than ever for overseas visitors. Yet still they come.

Klong Son Bay is one of the most beautiful beach spots on the whole of Koh Chang and is located on the northwest tip of Koh Chang. It is the home of our property development project. Koh Chang has been a buzz over the last few days over the reported rescue of two killer whales from fishing nets. The story broke on 22nd March when official Thai news agency NNT reported that the whales were rescued by members of the Department of National Parks. The mammals were apparently trapped in fishing nets in Salakphet Bay in the south of the island and suffered injuries trying to escape.
White Sand Beach is the busiest tourist location on Koh Chang. The beach stretches for 2.5 kilometres, the majority of which is composed of fine white sand perfect for a tropical seaside holiday. One of the most dramatic events in Koh Chang’s history was a naval engagement between the forces of the Royal Thai Navy and the Vichy French Navy during WWII.
